In a marketing landscape where content is king—as Bill Gates predicted in a 1996 essay that content would generate the most money online—marketing and advertising experts are tasked with finding ways to stand out from the crowd, influence purchase decisions and build brand relevance.
Take 2024 30 Under 30 Marketing & Advertising listers Hassaan Raza, 26, and Quinn Favret, 23 as an example. To help companies save time and marketing budget money, the duo cofounded Tavus, an AI tool built to let customers like Meta and Salesforce create hundreds of personalized videos for their offerings in seconds. Investors have poured $25 million into the startup already.
Tavus’ tech creates an “AI clone” of you to generate thousands of custom videos that can be tailored to specific customers and products; food delivery startup Wonder records videos of their chefs thanking each customer by name for dining with them. The idea is to build loyalty and to make cold sales calls feel less “cold.”
“Relevancy comes through personalization,” CEO Raza says. “We live in an economy where our attention is our most scarce and most valuable resource.”
For more than a decade, Forbes has highlighted those young founders, marketing experts and industry leaders capturing attention and relevancy in our annual 30 Under 30 Marketing & Advertising list—with the help of nominations from the public and expertise from Forbes journalists and judges from all corners of marketing and advertising.
To be considered for this year’s annual list, all candidates had to be 29 or younger as of December 31, 2023, and never before named to an Under 30 North America, Europe or Asia list.
Candidates were evaluated by a panel of judges including Under 30 alum Robyn DelMonte, a creator known by her social media handle Girlbosstown who shares marketing ideas and analysis; Under 30 alum Everette Taylor, CEO of Kickstarter; Autodesk CMO Dara Treseder; and Google CMO Lorraine Twohill.
Of those named to the final list, nearly half are first-generation citizens and nearly half identify as people of color. The list includes founders as well as industry leaders and marketing executives including kitchenware brand Made By Gather’s Chief TikTok Officer Sophie Jamison, 23, and Twitch’s Bridget Kyeremateng, 28, senior manager of inclusive marketing.
Like Tavus’ Raza and Favret, many of the Under 30 founders are using AI to drive brand engagement and build marketing campaigns. At Montréal-based Hippoc, Kévin Combe, 29, and Jean-Maxime Larouche, 28, are using AI models to help companies predict an ad’s performance before a campaign goes live—eliminating the need for costly A/B testing and time-consuming experiments. And listers Aditya Agashe, 27, and Neel Mehta, 27, cofounded marketing SaaS startup Fiber AI to offer clients GPT-powered outreach emails.
Like Kyeremateng, many honorees are focused on inclusive marketing. At Instagram, Amala Okpala, 28, manages more than 65 BIPOC-owned brands including Telfar and Tower28, consulting them on how to build their social content strategy, grow audiences and increase revenue through commerce solutions like Shops Ads and Instagram Checkout. At the NAACP, Chinonye Vanessa Mbonu, 29, is focused on the organization’s digital strategy and engaging younger populations to participate in social justice and equity efforts. And at Max, Charlie Weber, 29, helped introduce the streaming platform’s first nonbinary lead character with a robust influencer campaign while marketing the sitcom Sort Of.
Elsewhere, to help marketers themselves, Alexandre Bocquet, 28, built Betterly, a marketing recruiting platform that has helped hundreds of independent workers find digital marketing gigs.
From Domino’s to Disney, this year’s 30 Under 30 Marketing & Advertising list cuts across multiple industries to highlight the leaders rewriting the rules of brand engagement.
